The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is one of the seven Sacraments of the Church. Any member of the Catholic faithful who is in danger of death, becomes seriously ill, is injured or is of advanced age is encouraged to receive this Sacrament. One need not be at the point of death. Only those who have reached the age of reason are candidates for this Sacrament. (That is, the normal age at which a child may be capable of discerning right from wrong--usually at or about age seven.) Anointing of the Sick takes place after the 5:15pm Mass on the first Thursday of each month. If you wish to be anointed but cannot attend following the 5:15pm on the first Thursday Mass, please call the parish office to make an appointment.
