OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Founded in 1954, St. Pius X Catholic Church of White Bear Lake is based on Pope Pius X`s papacy theme, “To Restore All Things in Christ.”

The people of St. Pius X build on this theme by actively participating in Eucharistic worship, prayer and the Sacraments. We promote social justice and provide Catholic education for all members. We proclaim the Gospel message for all to hear and welcome the community at large.

Adopted: May 30, 1996

Organized as a new parish in White Bear Township, Minnesota in June 1954, St. Pius X parish strives to live out the motto of St. Pius X: "TO RESTORE ALL THINGS IN CHRIST"  Reference Our Parish History for history detail.

OUR PARISH ORGANIZATION

An important element in the growth and success of a parish is to help its members understand and work within the existing structures and organizations, to provide counsel and advice on parish matters to the pastor.

PARISH TRUSTEES

Church law requires parishes to have a corporate board of directors comprised of five members. Archbishop Harry Flynn is president of our parish board and Father John Mitchell, our pastor, serves as vice-president. The remaining members include the Vicar General of the Archdiocese and our two parish member trustees, whose function is to represent the broad interests of our entire parish community.

PARISH FINANCE COMMITTEE

Each parish must have a finance committee as required under Church Law which functions as a financial advisory board to the pastor and the Parish Pastoral Council. The committee meets to establish the parish budget, review financial performance and projections for parish programs, and to manage the facilities on our parish campus. All parishioners are welcome to attend the meetings.

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL

The Parish Pastoral Council is an advisory body of parishioners established to consult with the pastor and recommend the direction of parish activities in keeping with the vision and mission of the parish. Parish Pastor Council members are elected annually from within the community to serve staggered two-year terms. All parishioners are welcome to attend the monthly meetings on the fourth Tuesday

COMMISSIONS

  • The Administrative Services Commission of the Parish Pastoral Council is concerned with maintenance of parish facilities, parish finances, and fund raising. The parish Finance Committee and Maintenance Committee are aligned under this commission.
  • The Christian Formation Commission of the Parish Pastoral Council is concerned with religious education in the parish to include adult/family, youth, child, and RCIA. The school advisory board(s) shall also be aligned under this commission.
