III. Standing Committees
A. Pastor’s Report: Fr. Dan thanked all ministries for helping with the Easter celebration. We had enough volunteers to do everything. All three Masses were well attended. There is an important meeting scheduled on April 17 to discuss the Future Fund. Members of Future are those individuals who have contributed $500 or more to the fund.
B. Religious Education/Youth Ministry: Don Palmiscno reported that five Junior High students are scheduled to attend the ND Junior High Youth Rally on April 6 in Langdon. He will be taking two 3rd Grade students, their parents and teacher to work at “Feed My Starving Children” on April 7. April 10 the 2nd Grade students will have First Reconciliation. The ticket sales for the Relay For Life quilt have been very good. About 40 books have been sold so far. The last regular class for 6th-12th Grade will be on May 1 and Preschool-5th Grade will be on May 5 with 10:30 AM Mass. The 3rd Grade class will have a Confirmation Retreat on May 8. Baccalaureate Mass is planned for 8:30AM on May 19. Confirmation will be at 12 noon on May 19 at St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center.
C. Knights of Columbus: Harold announced that the last KC Breakfast will be on April 28. They are getting ready for the State Convention; Larry Roch and Tony Scheett are delegates for the meeting.
D. Altar Society: Laurel Ann Dukart reported that the Altar Society served 340 adults and 14 children for the Palm Sunday Dinner. They have earmarked $10,000 for the St. Mary’s Building Fund. Since work is being done in the kitchen to replace the floor, the Altar Society decided to have the walls and ceiling painted, as well. Ye Olde Painters gave a quote of $325 for the walls and $540 for the ceiling. Painting will start on May 8. The Valley 4000 Birthday Party will be on April 30. They will serve Baccalaureate as planned. The final meeting before the summer will be on May 6 with Mass and Installation of Officers.
E. Parish Family Life Committee: Ellen Rose announced that she and Don Palmiscno are working on getting a Young Families Group together, which will include Family Fun Nights.
F. Liturgy Committee: Virgie Wilson thanked everyone for their efforts during Holy Week. The next Liturgy Committee meeting will be on April 23. She requested that ushers be present at the meeting. Crowning of Mary will be done at the 10:30 AM Mass on May 5. Another Parish Mission is being planned for Lent next year, March 30-April 1, 2014. They are looking for more people to be Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers, especially during the summer months. The Time and Talent sheets are being prepared for September. Also in September, Dr. Petroc Willey will be here for a presentation on the Catechism of the Catholic Church. This will be on September 12 with supper at 5:30 PM and presentation from 6:30-8:30 PM.
G. Health Ministry: Don announced that the cost to rent mannequins from the Red Cross for CPR training is $10-15/mannequin/night. Harold is still checking about renting mannequins from Altru, though they don’t usually rent them. The other option would be to purchase our own. The cost for two adult and two child mannequins, as well as two AED simulators, would be about $700. We would then just need to upkeep the equipment.
H. Holy Family/St. Mary’s School: Fr. Dan announced that Kindergarten Roundup had about 30 kids. Ellen requested that Michelle Emineth be asked to come to the May Parish Council meeting or write a report. We still need another Board Member from St. Mary’s.
IV. Ad Hoc Committees
A. Centennial Committee: Fr. Dan stated that the next meeting will be on April 16. They have the outline of the Centennial Book determined; it will be about 60-70 pages. Alyce Stokke is putting it together. In addition, a new pictorial directory will be started Fall 2014.
V. New Business – Don thanked Virgie for all that she does for the Parish.
VI. Fr. Dan led the group in closing prayer.

The 6th-12th grade students will present "The Living Stations" at 7 PM on Wednesday, March 20. The Junior High Youth Rally will be held in Langdon on Saturday, April 6. They are making a quilt that will be raffled off on May 31 at the Relay For Life. Tickets ($1 each, $5 for 6) will be sold starting next week. There will be no RE classes on Wednesday, March 27, or Sunday, March 31, due to Holy Week and Easter.

New banners were made, new candles were ordered, new booklets with a short version of the Stations of the Cross will be distributed to parishioners in nursing homes. On Holy Thursday, the people participating in the Washing of the Feet will include six KCs, two High School boys, and four non-KC men.

H. Holy Family/St. Mary’s School: No report.
IV. Ad Hoc Committees
A. Centennial Committee: Judd reported that there was a meeting this afternoon to discuss the Centennial booklets. All subcommittees will meet on Tuesday, April 16, at 5:30 PM. The Gilberts will be presenting information about the graphics for the Centennial Celebration that will be used on banners, t-shirts, etc. In addition, the Gilberts will announce timeline dates when things need to be ready for publication. The Centennial Committee needs as much participation and support as possible. Judd will keep the Pastoral Council updated as they go along.
V. New Business
A. Harold was asked by a parishioner about the spacing of the pews. The person asking felt that the pews are too close and was wondering if they could be repositioned to make more room. We would need to keep this in mind for the future as it would only be done if a major renovation were to occur, such as replacing the floor tiles. Further discussion indicated that others prefer the current spacing. There was concern that if such a change were to be made, we would lose necessary seating space. Both viewpoints will be kept in mind if such a change is considered in the future.
B. Dale Rivard announced that the kitchen floor will be replaced with commercial tile squares and displayed a sample. The tiles can be replaced individually in the future, if necessary. The current linoleum floor is rippled as a result of the moisture in the floor from the flood. The work will occur in April at an estimated cost of $8,000-10,000.
C. Dale reported that the Church addition/new elevator project was released for bids this week. The Finance Committee is expecting final bids in 4-6 weeks.
VI. Fr. Dan led the group in closing prayer.
VII. Adjournment – The meeting was adjourned at 7:57 PM.
Respectfully Submitted,

III. Standing Committees
A. Pastor’s Report: Fr Dan stated that at the Deanery Meeting today, they spoke with the chaplains' ministry from Valley Memorial Homes. Holy Family takes care of Valley Eldercare and Valley 4000; St. Mary's covers Parkwood. Mass is offered every Tuesday at Valley Memorial Homes, and Communion is three times a week. The Catholic priests still take care of emergencies. Fr. Dan gave an update about our building plans. The engineers were here yesterday. We have received another good-sized donation and are still waiting on bids for a contract. Confirmation ("catch up") will be held this Saturday at St. Michael's. Three St. Mary's students will be confirmed. The Cemetery Chapel is taking shape; it will be a simple chapel, but obviously Catholic.
B. Religious Education/Youth Ministry: Don Palmiscino distributed an updated list for RE attendance. There are currently 105 students in Preschool-12th grade. Relay for Life is May 31. Our team is St. Mary's KC/Youth. They will pray the Rosary as a group at 10 PM. Others are welcome. For a fundraiser, they will raffle off a quilt made by the Parish. The Elementary Lenten Project will be about prayer. The 7-12th grade Movie Night is on February 20. They will watch "The Passion of the Christ". Don has received information about the National Catholic Youth Conference to be held November 22-23 in Indianapolis. The Youth will be raising money to help offset costs for students to attend.
C. Knights of Columbus: No report.
D. Altar Society: Laurel Ann Dukart reported that the Soup Suppers will start on February 20 and be held every Wednesday during Lent, except March 13 when the Catholic Daughters will have an Irish Dinner (corned beef and cabbage). The Altar Society will continue serving coffee and rolls on Sunday between Masses during Lent. The menu for Palm Sunday Dinner will be the same as last year.
E. Parish Family Life Committee: Fr. Dan reported that there was no Mardi Gras celebration this year because there were not enough volunteers and too many other things were going on.
F. Liturgy Committee: In Virginia Wilson's absence, Dana Hillebrand read the notes from the most recent Liturgy Committee Meeting. Ash Wednesday Masses will be at 8 AM, 12:10 PM, and 7 PM at St. Mary's and 10:30 AM at Parkwood. We have new books for the Stations of the Cross, which are held at 5:15 PM on Fridays during Lent. The Reconciliation Service will be on Tuesday, March 26, at 7 PM. New altar, pulpit, and Tabernacle covers have been made, as well as a new banner for Lent. Help is needed to decorate for the Easter Vigil after the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday.

H. Holy Family/St. Mary’s School: Fr. Dan said that the next School Board meeting will be on February 13. The Holy Family/St. Mary's School fundraiser will be Friday, February 15. We still need to fill the open Board position for St. Mary's. The next School Mass at St. Mary's will be on March 17 at 10:30 AM (we have this twice a year, in the fall and the spring).
IV. Ad Hoc Committees
A. Centennial Committee: Judd McKinnon reported that the last meeting of this committee was in January. The next meeting of the full committee will be at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, April 16. The subcommittees include: Schedule & Events, Media/Advertising, Interviews, Promotional Items, Centennial Booklet, Recordings (CD/DVD), and New Directory. They need help, so anyone interested in participating is welcome. Contact the Parish Office for more information. Deacon Sam announced that he has received a response from the Sisters of St. Joseph. They are getting together pictures of past principals and teachers.
V. Unfinished Business – Fr. Dan gave a reminder about his Lenten Reflections which will be at 7 PM on Wednesdays. They will be about the major achievements of the Second Vatican Council and the difference it made to the Church.
VI. Deacon Sam led the group in closing prayer.
VII. Adjournment – The meeting was adjourned at 7:58 PM.
