$1,624,700 Pledged to
Securing Our Future
Capital Campaign
I am pleased to inform you that we currently have pledges of $1 ,624,700 from 583 parish families for our Securing Our Future Capital Campaign. The goal of our Campaign is $1,983,000 which is ambitious but achievable. We are less than $358,300 from reaching our goal!
Please return your pledge card if you have not done so already. We really need your help to reach our goal which will help us reduce our burdensome debt and complete some very necessary repairs on our facilities.
As of September 15, 2007, we have received $574,714 in contributions to the Campaign which has helped us to:
1) Pay for essential new carpeting in the church. The new carpet was installed in September and it looks fabulous. We needed to replace the carpet because in certain areas it was frayed, torn or rumpled, and our insurance company had instructed us to fix/replace the carpet due to concerns about people tripping and falling.
2) Pay for essential roof replacement on the 200 wing of our school last November.
3) Keep current 100% of our annual Archdiocesan assessment of $1 07,493, paying on a quarterly basis.
4) Make regular payments towards $176,264 of our overdue assessment from previous years.
5) Pay down an additional $50,000 on our current parish debt, which will save us almost $4,000 per year in interest payments.
6) Pay our monthly mortgage of $22,907 to the bank.
As you can see, your donations to the Capital Campaign are necessary to meet our current obligations of the monthly mortgage and assessment payments to the Archdiocese. We also use your Capital Campaign donations to do necessary repairs on our facility.
We are less than $358,300 from reaching our Campaign goal. I really believe we will need this $358,300 over the next three years. Therefore, please give to the Campaign if you are able and return your pledge card soon. Some of you are giving to the Campaign even though you are unable to make a pledge, and I really appreciate that. Others of you are praying for the Campaign and our parish even though you cannot make a formal Campaign pledge at this time. Others of you have all you can do to support our General Operating Fund in the weekly Sunday collection, and I appreciate your support there.
Having said all that, the effort of this Capital Campaign is too important to simply let go. The future financial stability of our parish is at stake, and I feel the responsibility to do all I can to invite your support for the Capital Campaign. If there is anything you would like me to know about your situation, feel free to write me a note and insert it with your pledge card or with a letter to me.
God Bless You,

Fr. John Mitchell
