AN ENCOUNTER WITH CHRIST
Make a friend, be a friend, bring a friend to Christ!

What is the Cursillo Movement?
The first Cursillo in the United States was held in Waco, Texas in 1957 by two airman from Spain, Bernardo Vadell and Agustin Palomino who were training with the USAF and Father Gabriel Fernandez, who arrived in Waco from Spain in 1955.
Fr. Gabriel Fernadez experienced his Cursillo, in Spain, under the direction of Father Juan Capo and Eduardo Bonnin.
Fr Gabriel Fernandez and the two airman were responsible for putting together the first two Cursillo Weekends in Waco, Texas.
To explain Cursillo, which means "short course", to someone who has not experienced Cursillo is at best, difficult. It`s not because Cursillo is a secret, but because it is a living experience that one must experience first hand. No one can fully explain how God touches a person. Christ, through the Cursillo and through His grace, touches the person who is open to a personal relationship with Him in a special way.
The Cursillo can help the person develop a deeper understanding of what it means to be fully Catholic by being fully Christian in order to excercise their mission as baptized individuals!

Palanca Requests
What is a Palanca? Palanca is an action of intercessory prayer, sacrifice, and/or works of mercy that is offered, by your Cursillo brothers and sisters, to God on your behalf.
Request a Palanca for another, for a weekend retreat, or for yourself!
If outside of the USA, please request, if possible, 4-6 weeks in advance.
